Stream-Of-Consciousness
You have to be mentally prepared and opened to dating if you're going to be dating - this is what I learned from Not Sraight Forward today.
I don't think I've ever made that kind of decision consciously - to be opened to dating. And having thought about it some, it seems, really unfortunately for me, I'm not in fact opened to it - at all. So I guess that's why I always blow off Alvina's encouragement to give the people who pick me up a chance.
:::
While looking for a cushion at The Warehouse, I found music boxes that played 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and foot-high Care-Bears!
That really made my day. I'm glad I didn't give in to the temptation to splurge, but man oh man, I so want them.

I can't believe I've lived so many years, growing up in a food paradise, and have never tasted a fish pie until today.
The one I bought from Le Moulin was absolutely scrumptious - no wonder Jaya (who totally hates fish) loves them. It's all gooey and fragrant, with fish chunks (not at all fishy, and no bones or scales either!) and soft diced mystery veggies (my bet's on either onions or leeks). I now like fish pies more than potato-topped pies!
I also bought a tomato-and-cheese pizza bread. Also yummy: the bread (a ciabatta loaf) was soft and springy to bite, and the tomato paste was chunky and aromatic, and sprinkled with chopped herbs.
Uh-oh ...
Gotta. Resist. Food. Glorious. Food.

I don't think it's a good sign that I'm more comfortable in worn-out jeans and steel-toe DMs, and letting my overdue-for-a-trim hair get wild and messy in the wind, than in something more presentable and lady-like.
...
Wait a minute, why do I care about looking lady-like?
Bah.
...
No, wait. It has nothing to do with looking lady-like. I've regressed; I'm back to dressing the way I dressed when I was eighteen - black top, scruffy jeans, and DMs. All I'm missing are my three dozens of silver bangles.
...
I will not dust off the six dozens of silver bangles I've brought over with me. I will not put them on again. I will not start dressing like an eighteen-year-old.
Maybe I should ask the girls if anybody wants some size 2/8 bangles ...
