Can't Catch A Break
There's gonna be a staff strike tomorrow, and I'm all for it.
But.
Dr. Ian Jamieson had sadly informed us yesterday that because he is not actually a full-time staff, he's not eligible to go on strike, and the lecture will still be on.
Damn it.
I have plans to catch the 12:00 screening of Inside Deep Throat tomorrow (because sessions before and at 17:00 cost only $10.50, compared to the other tickets at $14 each). It's being screened at Paramount, and its duration is listed as 92 minutes.
Now, the ENGL 224 lecture is at 14:00, and the movie should end around 13:35; I will have about 25 minutes to walk to school. But the timing is going to be a wee bit tight.
I could, of course, walk to school via The Great Stairs of Allenby, but I'd also be very likely to wheeze to death half way up the damn stairs (I almost did, the first and last time I'd tried it) - which, when I think about it, would render the attempt redundant.
There's the option of public transportation, but having spent nearly the whole of entire three years here traveling on foot (or by shuttle, train or plane), I haven't the slightest idea which buses run from Courtney to Kelburn.
Argh.
I can't ever catch a damn break for the life of me.
Ever.
