Que Sara, Sara

I was restless the entire day. My plan was simple: finish translating 'Cynewulf and Cyneheard'. I did about four lines and my attention wandered.

So I tried reading Fitt II of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, but couldn't make it pass line 580.

I went on to continue reading Merlin Stone's When God Was A Woman, but ...

Finally - and by this time, it was already late afternoon - I started transcribing 'The Nine Herbs Charm'. By Goddess, it worked like a ... um, charm.

A beautiful Saturday, and I'm only at peace squinting at grainy photocopies of facsimiles of Anglo-Saxon manuscripts, transcribing letters into mostly meaningless (for me, at least) strings of words, music (Blues Café presents The Best of Blues) playing in the background.

Goodness, I am an anti-social loner. And what's more (worse?), I'm feeling pretty damn contented.
