Bedeviled

For the first time since the lockout had been resolved (for the moment), I logged onto New Jersey Devils Rule - a little belatedly, I admit - and what do I see:

Scott Neidermayer Signs With Anaheim.

I had one of those roller-coaster-ride feelings where your heart free-falls to your stomach and reverse-bungees back up to your throat. And all before breakfast.

I rushed over to the official New Jersey Devils site to check out our new roster. Holy shit - Malakhov, Matvichuk, McGillis and Ollie.



Okay, I'm over Nieds.

So what if he'd captained the team for the season before last? So what if he'd been part of the team since, like, forever? So what if he'd been part of a team that has had three Stanleys in nine seasons? If he wants out to go to Disneyland to play with his brother - ah well, tant pis.

I feel like a dead part of me is coming alive again.

Really, there seem to be just two things I live for (and would converse about) - Bollywood, and my Devils.



Is it any wonder at all that I flounder and fail at social engagements?
