Of Airplanes And Ports

That late night the Unholy Trinity sat in the playground, Jason had told me, some people are ships, some people are airplanes; you have a port, so no point falling in love with an airplane, okay?

Six years on and I realize I still haven't taken heed of his advice.

Jason gives good advice - he always has. I should listen to him. There are many sensible people who talk sense, but he's the only one who says it in a way to which I'd listen. I don't always listen to him, of course - especially when he says something I don't particularly care to hear - but I know I really should.

There're too many airplanes; it seems like they're all airplanes. Maybe it's time to do something about it.

So, which option is more feasible: to try and convert my port into an airport, or, to compel myself to like only ships?

He'd better have a good answer to this ...

i don't really understand the analogy... so a port is relegated to receptions/ arrivals/departures while the various modes are merely concerned with transport? how does one have or become a port?

how about bicycles? or automobiles? or hot-air balloons? or are the typologies restricted to large carriers?

an airplane can't land in a port, so it's pointless for a port to long for an airplane.

a port will not be of any use to an airplane, just as an airport is of no use to a ship - that was what he'd meant, that's all.
