8 Things That Suck About The Local Libraries
- Wendy Cope's Making Cocoa For Kingsley Amis is only available in two branches (AMK and Jurong Regional), and there are like, just two fucking copies.
- Which, as it turns out, is a lot better than Serious Concerns, of which there is just one fucking copy (in Central Lending).
- Central Lending Library has only one shelf of graphic novels which are all catalogued under 'Arts'.
- Central Lending Library's collection of graphic novels are mostly populated by stuff that can best be described as 'comics'.
- Not every single branch has something by James Kochalka; the ones that do, have only one item by him - American Elf.
- There are exactly ten items by Andi Watson, and these ten are split between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Skeleton Key ... jesus.
- There is nothing at all by Roman Dirge.
- Ditto the brothers Hernandez, Jaime and Gilbert.
There would be more to follow, I suspect, when I start visiting the libraries in earnest.

aah. got stuck in this same rut too. many useful books happen to be in the repository. bah. and books covering only general topics (at best) are stocked on the pitiful shelves.
you know it's time to look to amazon and think about shipping orders. or borders. or kinokuniya.
and think about robbing the bank.
